"I had a fantastic band assembled for Good To Finally Know. Tony Mason on drums, Jesse Graham on bass, Paul Tillotson on keys, and John Caban on guitar. We had just come off the road after a bunch of dates and we were sounding tight. We returned to Lakewest Recording Studio to track the 10 songs that would become Good to Finally Know. Ride A Tear is one of my favorites from that session particularly because of Tony Mason's greasy, reggae groove and the floating clav part Paul played in the chorus. Blueberries is another one I love; it's written about my love for Maine especially Mount Desert Island where my family has been going for years. Maine blueberries are so unique and delicious that I felt like they needed their own song. It's a tune that you can slow dance to. We used one of William Quigley's boxer paintings for the cover image - it has a surreal feel that complements the lyrics and music of the 10 tracks.." – Pete Francis
