"I always wanted to put together a live record. A few years ago, I found a pile of DAT tapes in a pelican case up in my attic. Most of the tapes were from gigs all around the US in the summer of 2003. At that time, I had a smoking band. Paul Tillotson was on keys, Tony Mason on drums, Jesse Graham on bass and John Caban on guitar. Songs like Low Sun and Air emerged from Mason's effortless drumming. John Caban used his guitar pedals creating dreamy and luscious tones on tunes like Burning the River and Untold. Jesse Graham was a funky and creative bassist. He introduced me to Tower Of Power's record, Urban Renewal. We rocked out to "What is Hip" on many a van ride! You can hear Graham's thump in the bass line he plays on Low Sun. The mighty Paul Tillotson or "Pauli T" was a wondrous and completely original keyboard wizard. Check out how he stomps and rips through the wurli and clav on a Train Window. Most of the record comes from one or two shows while we were touring my record, Untold. Pretty sure one was from Stubbs in Austin, TX and the other was at a festival in Wisconsin. The final song is the bonus track, Hudson Dream. It's my Mom's favorite of all my songs. Paul wrote that amazing piano riff. Marty Ballou is on Upright bass and Marty Richards is on kit. I think it was the first or second take recorded with Jack Gauthier up at Lake West recording studio. Every time Paul and I would play that song we would be smiling from ear to ear." – Pete Francis
